Stay Home Discoveries: Week 1

By now, the W&M team are almost all working from home. In addition to our daily Zoom calls and quarantine-related memes in the group chat, we also have a spreadsheet (glamorous, we know) where we're sharing all the little things we're doing and discovering whilst being away from each other.

And then we thought, why not share it with you too? We're not going to send you a spreadsheet you'll be glad to hear, instead some highlights of what we've been loving this week.

Here's your first dose of W&M approved entertainment…

What we're reading...

With quarantine squashing our ability to use the 'I couldn't get a seat in the tube, therefore couldn't read my book' excuse, we've been able to sit and digest something other than the BBC News twitter feed. Here's what we've been diving into...

The Sex Lives of Women by Wendy Jones

The Vegetarian by Han Kang

Apartamento Magazine (image below).

What we're eating...

Trying to stick to a three-meals-a-day plan is proving difficult for many of us (why make three meals when you can just have infinite snacks?).

Here’s an easy meal that’s made it’s way into our attempts to create daily routine.

The Easiest Banana Waffles

2 bananas
2 cups of plain flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup of oat milk
Pinch of salt

Blend the bananas and oat milk and whisk this into the dry ingredients. Cook the batter in a waffle iron (or in a pan for equally good pancakes).

What we're watching...

In between new Netflix releases and the UK launch of Disney+, we've been spoilt for choice in regards to TV and movies. Here's a selection of our favourites...

Tiger King on Netflix

If you haven't watched this yet, you've surely seen the memes online. A must-watch.

High Fidelity on Hulu

Transport yourself to Brooklyn and jam out to the best TV show soundtrack there's been in a long while.

Sarabande Foundation by Alexander McQueen (image below)

Watch inspirational talks with leading creatives in art, fashion, business, and cinema.

Who we're following...

We're all spending more time of our phones (if you deny it you're lying), but this doesn't have to be a bad thing. As a brand, and as individuals, we're trying to fill our feeds with positivity and inspiration. Here are some of our favourite accounts...

@ellabode - Did someone say house envy?

@livokai - For make up ideas to bank until summer. (image below).

@marybensonlondon - A London clothing brand making beautiful garments from dead stock fabric.
