Throughout November and December, we’re going to be celebrating everything we love about being a small independent business, with an amazing team of super-talented London-based makers.

In the run up to Christmas, we want to encourage as many of you as possible to support independent designers and makers like us. We think it's vital to acknowledge those businesses who put in huge amounts of effort to create safe, positive working conditions, with fair pay and and ethically-conscious supply chains.

We also work with great stockists across the world who share these values and we'll be introducing you to them on social media over the next few weeks.

Here's six great reasons to support independent brands like ours...

1. Supporting your local community

It’s an obvious one, but shopping small helps to support your local community and economy. Not only does it reduce our reliance on giant corporations for products made in dubious conditions in the far east, it utilises local talent and often creates a buzz in and around the area. All our jewellery is made by our team of makers who live and work in London. And we have stockists all the way from Hebden Bridge to St Leonards-on-sea!

2. Unique designs

Each piece of our jewellery has been designed by Wolf & Moon founder & designer, Hannah Davis. Every piece is like a new member of the W&M family! And because all our jewellery is made by hand, each individual piece you buy is unique. We make all our jewellery here in our London studio, so we're also able to make limited edition pieces and exclusive colourways. We love the idea of gifting someone a product that they can't get anywhere else!

3. High quality products

We craft each of our products by hand, with love and care, and each piece is quality checked before it is sent out to you. By using high quality materials and taking our time to make each piece, shopping independent means better quality.

4. Fair working conditions

As a company, we're committed to providing a fair and fun working environment. We pay all our staff at least the London Living Wage, provide a pension scheme, and go above and beyond minimum requirements for holidays, maternity and paternity leave. Not to mention staff lunches and parties. We believe that a happy team means a happy customer.

5. Ethically and environmentally-conscious supply chain

We're continually making changes to be even more green, and as an independent manufacturer we're able to have total control over where and how our materials are sourced. Having close relationships with our suppliers means we can be mindful about our company footprint and have a much better understanding of our overall supply chain.
