Our spring colour crush: Classic Blue

It’s official, Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2020 is Classic Blue.

You can be ahead of the trend with our gorgeous new blue mother of pearl pieces. But we've also rounded up a selection of wonderful blue things from fashion brands we love, who are also making positive social and environmental moves.

Wolf & Moon

We've combined our love of colour with our love of texture within our new collection in the form of our new blue mother of pearl (and a lovely olive shade too). We know that our jewellery made with mother of pearl veneer is a fan-favourite. And although it may not be strictly Classic Blue 19-4052, we love the naturally non-uniform pattern of the material and how the iridescent shades change with the light.

The simple shape of the Marina Studs beautifully compliments the distinctive surface of the mother of pearl.

Rixo

We’ve had this brand on our radar for a while now. A female-founded independent UK brand, run by friends Henrietta and Orlagh. Rixo are making waves in womenswear for their colourful printed pieces that focus on body inclusivity and feminine shapes.

We’re loving their new Mandy Top, which combines a bold blue with a classic spring floral, to create the perfect transitional piece.

Paloma Wool

We’re big fans of Paloma Wool in the studio (you may even spy some of their pieces styled in our campaign imagery). Based in Barcelona, the brand seemed to become Instagram famous overnight (follow them @palomawool if you don’t already) and creates stunning staple pieces, great for those building a capsule wardrobe.

We love the pattern of their Cindy Top, which can be dressed up or dressed down.

Mother of Pearl

Who doesn’t love a brand that has sustainability at their core? Mother of Pearls creative director Amy Powney has been positively evolving the brand’s sustainable practices for 13 years. The brand has a focus on using natural materials, low impact production and transparency throughout their supply chain.

We may be moving into spring, but in the UK at least, the cold doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere, so we’ve got our eye on the Belinda Boot.

Lucy & Yak

Lucy & Yak have taken the charm of a small, family run business and created a brand with a large and loyal following. Creating perfectly designed (and unisex) dungarees, the brand has full environmental and social transparency and encourages slow living through their product and branding.

Classic blue meets classic style with their Easton Organic Corduroy Dungarees.

Doen

US brand Doen, headed by Margaret and Katherine Kleveland has put into play a set of initiatives for 2020 that focus on creating a company with less impact on the environment. By implementing processes like transitioning to organic and recycled materials and renewable energy, as well as eco-friendly packaging.

Their Ophelia Sweater is made from Cashmere/Wool blend. Light but cosy, it’s great for ¾ seasons!
