This Week's Discoveries

 NANAN

This week we came across the dreamiest of places, Nanan, a patisserie in Wrocław, Poland. The speciality of this patisserie, the éclair, has inspired the interior design and the visual identity of Nanan, designed by polish design/architecture practice BUCK.STUDIO. The éclair’s oval shape is echoed throughout the patisserie: in the lights, the windows, the door openings, the counter, the mirrors, the handles and finally the logo. We can't decide what we are most crazy about, the interiors or the actual sweets!

The Barbican Conservatory

We're still feeling the need to talk and think about plants and bright colours in order to get through February. This Sunday we will be heading to The Barbican Conservatory to wander around this tropical oasis surrounded by beautiful brutalist architecture.

Another Time Another Place

Stour Space is exhibiting over 60 images by photographer Neil Martinson, showing what might be the largest collection of unseen images of Hackney from the 70's and 80's. Neil Martinson grew up in Hackney and started photographing at a young age, starting out with street scenes and later documenting local working lives. On until 22nd February, open 9am-5pm daily.

Fink's Salt and Sweet

A short walk from our workshop we have the lovely deli and eatery Fink's. A menu with small plates, with focus of British seasonal ingredients offering salads, sandwiches, soups, nibbles all day – great coffee, maybe a cake, and something a bit more serious in the evenings. Perfect Saturday activity with a stroll around Clissold Park!
