The 6th of February is coming up, which marks the centenary of the day where the law officially passed to give some women the vote in the UK. We've listed three events celebrating this that we'd like to participate in, starting from this weekend.
Votes for Women: Weekend
This weekend (3-4/2) Museum of London has arranged a weekend full of activities exploring the work of the Suffragettes through performances, photography, workshops, poetry and more.
100 Years of Votes for Women: an LSE Law celebration
LSE is celebrating the centenary on the 6th with speeches from Brenda Hale, Shami Chakrabarti, and Nicola Lacey. This public lecture is the first in a series of LSE Law events taking place over 2018 and 2019 to mark the Centenary of the founding of the LSE Law department.
Virginia Woolf: An Exhibition Inspired by her Writings
Tate St Ives will be hosting an exhibition of the works from over 70 artists, whose work were inspired by feminist writer, Virginia Woolf, 10/2 - 29/4. The exhibition will explore feminist perspectives on landscape, domesticity and identity in modern and contemporary art.
