5 Things to do with Friends & Family this Easter Weekend

We've got a bank holiday weekend coming up and despite being over the moon with a few extra days off, it's often overwhelming to make and execute plans.

Whether you're celebrating with friends, or family or having a relaxing few days by yourself, we've listed a few things you can do over the bank holiday weekend whatever the weather and whatever your budget!

1. A Pot Luck/Picnic

Since it’s spring in the UK, we’re officially calling picnic season. This weekend is a great time to gather your friends & family for a big group meal, whether you go for a boozy brunch with pastries & prosecco, a light lunch or dinner (is it too early for a BBQ)?!

To make things easier, we recommend making a document of all the components you need; from blankets to booze, and getting everyone to bring 1 or 2 things on the list. Get out in your garden or pick somewhere to pitch and make the most of the longer days and warmer weather!

2. A Craft-Filled Afternoon

Many of us probably don’t have time to be creative juggling a busy work and social life, but with a few extra days to relax this Easter, it’s a great time to set some hours to let your creative juices flow and make something fun. Whether that’s heading to an art class (we love a little life drawing number), a therapeutic colouring book for adults, or something a bit more niche like our DIY kits.

Get on your favourite playlist, pretend you're an artist for the afternoon and come away with a new item!

3. Plant a Garden

Easter, and spring in general, is all about celebrating new life! So to help harness the newness, why not take this time to tend to your garden and plant some new friends that will bloom over the next few months. If you don’t have a garden, many of these can be sown inside too and placed on a window sill (imitating a greenhouse) and then moved outside when they're ready.

4. A Classic Easter Egg Hunt
If you have children, or just want to cater to your own inner child, an easter egg hunt is a must this weekend. Whether you go hard boiled & decorated or chocolate only, this is a great way to create an interactive activity for the whole family to enjoy.
To swich up the game, make it into a relay race, add some extra special prizes or personalise it with specific eggs for each person and their own prize at the end. If you're playing with teens/adults, add some clues or quiz questions to make it a little bit more challenging!
Head over to your local park, set it up in the garden or even around the house for hours of fun (especially if you forget where they're all hidden)!
5. An All-Night Movie Marathon

If you’re feeling lazy this weekend, lean into it! If staying on the sofa sounds good, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. With the extra few days off, it’s completely acceptable to hole up under your duvet and binge some of your favourite films. Get the gang together and turn your living room into the comfiest cinema ever!

Here are some of our favourite franchises that will keep you entertained for hours...

  • Harry Potter
  • Lord of the Rings
  • Marvel
  • Fast & Furious
  • Star Wars
